I would think a katadyne water filter might be good to have. They will purify water better than any chemicals. they are what the Peace Corps and U.N. disaster teams use. If you have access to a military PX they are sell gloves made by Whitewater that are tan or black with thin leather palms and woven backs for shooting or you can get flight gloves the same color and a little thicker and longer. On the farm we have natural gas as I got lucky enough to buy a place with free gas so heat, water heater and barn is heated with gas. House in Charleston has natural gas with heat pump put in last year while I was in the sand box, ovens are electric, water, and stove is gas.

I have owls come into the call a few times while hunting at night in the hills of WV had one perch 10 feet above me in a tree that got my attention as I saw it come in through the starlight goggles. Never had one closer than that.

OK, Ted, now did you check your case lengths last time you loaded? If you have some but not all cases that are too long, it can cause some pretty drastic pressure differences, thus poor accuracy. Used it the first time on an 870 Rem I bought from an estate that was neglected to the point only about 60 % of the finish was left. I have the screw out and all else loose. The plug will not come out when tapped with a plastic mallet and would not pull away from the barrel (with light force).

Spray some kroil into the chamber and leave it set over night. Then try the bore brush. If that does not work a broke case extractor would be best. There are a few other ways but PM me for some that I have used while away from my tools.

Got this at the P.X. at Ft Bragg a few months ago. Holds 2 lithium 123s and is brighter than my surefire 6P (15 years old) and has a LED for the main bulb and two other color led’s around the main for low light.
