Re: security check
I'm about halfway between Spanaway and Darrington. They are predicting rain for the next few days and we already have twice the usual for March. The list of missing is now over 175. Some of the hills here are several hundred foot high piles of glacial till. Looks like a whole ridgeline let go. The d...

with IPA as a solvent that would carry it into the dermis deeper...... try DMSO for that. Please do not use DMSO (dimethylsulfoxide) - it will certainly work very well as a carrier solvent to penetrate the dermis, but it is quite neuro toxic. DMSO was very popular for this kind of use in the...

Re: Anyone else here feeding hummers?
We feed Hummingbirds year round, but in the Northwest (WA) we get almost all Anna's hummingbirds with maybe 1-2 Rufous per year. The Anna's are very territorial and seeing more than one on the feeder at a time is rare. They stay over the winter and just about camp out on the feeder during the day wh...

This new Ruger 10/22 International followed me home a couple weeks ago. It shoots extremely well. Lots of fun and very accurate.

They did an upgrade and the old link just leads to a blank page. Use 336bl's link and it works fine.
Sounds like there is still work in progress there.

Re: Twisting the knife on my landlocked brethren
Hey, the NW isn't that rainy. We have 60 sunny days a year in W WA. Why just last Sunday we almost made it to 80. The next State south was close to 90. Anytime we want sunny weather we can drive an hour or so east and be in desert. We even have seasons here: Winter and August. Washington: The Evergr...

Re: Injured bobcat bites woman who tries to help
No, you don't have to be blonde or female... This reminds me of one of my stupidest moves. A couple years ago our cat was literally pounding on the back door, one evening, demanding to come in. I opened the door and he shot past me - black blur. Outside on the patio another large cat was growling an...

She works at the range where I am a member. Very impressive young lady who is a great shot with and knowledgeable about just about any firearm. What is not obvious from her page is that she is about 6 ft tall (or more) too.

Since we live near Seattle, my wife and I have been on two very different Alaska cruises. 2 years ago we took the Princess cruise from Seattle to Skagway and back. Had a great time and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We spent most of the time on the deck watching the scenery and talking wi...

Re: My-"Because I Can"-Oil Candle & Alcohol Stove's
Nicely done everyone. Here is a 2000 year-old, pottery solution to the olive oil candle/lamp. It's about 3" long. Note the flat profile of the body of the lamp for the same gravity fighting issue mentioned above. Cotton wick goes into the larger hole, small hole in the concave top for filling. ...

One nice thing about the '50s K22 Masterpiece is that it is the same size and weight as the K38. That allows you to practice with 22lr and the feel is the same as 38 Special - OK, except for the recoil. Here are my beauties, along with their Model 36 sister. Love them, especioally the K22 - in the m...

There are couple of them in the middle of this group. My dad and I bought them in the late '60s/early '70s in Kalispell.
