Fast forward to post atrophied muscles and coordination. I've been able to do this again after a couple years of working at it. When I first got home I could barely lift a 1911 and was really depressed that I'd never be able to shoot one again. Pulling back the slide on a Gen 3 Glock was completely out of the question.
It's been a lot of hard work and set backs, but I'm close to being pretty well recovered. Well, to shorten up the story, I can do it again with my 1911s, as well as my G19. The 26 is a bit stiffer and will need to work on that one. Shooting and range time has been really good therapy for me. When I stated getting back out to the range I could barely walk to 500 yds to the benches from the parking lot. Now I can carry a couple long guns, range bag, spotting scope, targets and my ever present Ruger SBH. I rarely go anywhere without it now.
Had a good day the other day with the .45s, not really shooting for tiny little groups at 25 yds, but wanted to make some noise with the big guns.

I just needed to get that out. Sorry for the long story!
