I really like the finish - darker than I thought it would be:
Anybody know what "wonder finish" is? Nothing on the EAA web site - looks like electroless nickel kinda...
I like the way it feels in my hand - doesn't feel heavy to me at all but definately heavier than a glock but less than a 1911. The sights are different that I expected - thought I'd get the standard "tall, skinny" rear sight and what it has as you can see, is a novak-type snag-free type sight. Rear dots are white - front is red. To drift adjust the rear sight, you unscrew a couple of allen set screws. Nice.
I didn't realize that the action is double action so long as the slide doesn't move back - in other words, you have second-strike (and 3rd, 4th, etc.) capability - a very good feature IMHO. If the pistol fires normally and the slide comes back and chambers a fresh round, you are in single action mode.
The pistol can be carried with a round in the chamber and the hammer cocked or uncocked with the safety on - the safety blocks the firing pin.
The rifling is indeed standard, cut rifling. Great for cast bullets!
Mag drops freely when you push the release in all of the way.
Controls are all snag-free and don't cause problems for carry.
I like it!
I'll post a range report once my dies arrive and I can get some ammo loaded for her.
