Re: 2024 Olympics
Did you see that Rutter had actually broken a target during the shootoff and the judges called it LOST? The shooters saw the piece, the spectators saw it too but the judges didn't - do I smell a dead carp...
At the bunker we have 3 score keepers, a ref and 2 flankers. If a target is lost the flankers throw up a hand so the ref can make sure it was indeed lost. If a visible piece is witnessed by a flanker, ref or another competitor that target counts as broken.
I saw they didn't have video replay on the skeet field.

I dunno about international skeet but in American skeet that trap practice of other shooters saying they saw a piece doesn’t fly in NSSA skeet . Good or bad that’s the way it is !GunnyMack wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 3:40 pm Did you see that Rutter had actually broken a target during the shootoff and the judges called it LOST? ....no video replay...??? How bizarre. It's not like that's new or expensive technology...GunnyMack wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 3:40 pm Did you see that Rutter had actually broken a target during the shootoff and the judges called it LOST? Re: 2024 Olympics
I dunno about NSSA rules as I've not shot a skeet match, I can understand how a broken target could be missed in trap as targets are broken much farther away than on a skeet field.
I'm sure someone was filming the Gold shoot off and that could have been reviewed if Rutt contested the target.
Still these Olympic class shooters are indeed the cream of the crop. I've had the opportunity to shoot with some over the years. The ARMY team was always fun to have around too.
