On a side note a Guatemalan lady Adriana Ruano Olivo won the ladies trap setting an Olympic record for hits and she won the first gold for Guatemala ever . A gentleman from the UK Nathan Hales won the mens trap also setting a new Olympic record and winning the first Gold for the UK in Olympic trap .

Another first in ladies skeet ! Francisca Crovetto Chadid wins the gold for Chile and becomes the first female athlete from Chile to recieve Olympic gold . The silver went to Amber Jo Rutter of the UK . This one was decided via shoot off as they both finished at 55 . The bronze went to American Austin Jewel Smith .

Did you see that Rutter had actually broken a target during the shootoff and the judges called it LOST? The shooters saw the piece, the spectators saw it too but the judges didn't - do I smell a dead carp...
At the bunker we have 3 score keepers, a ref and 2 flankers. If a target is lost the flankers throw up a hand so the ref can make sure it was indeed lost. If a visible piece is witnessed by a flanker, ref or another competitor that target counts as broken.
I saw they didn't have video replay on the skeet field.

I dunno about international skeet but in American skeet that trap practice of other shooters saying they saw a piece doesn’t fly in NSSA skeet . Good or bad that’s the way it is !

....no video replay...??? How bizarre. It's not like that's new or expensive technology...

I dunno about NSSA rules as I've not shot a skeet match, I can understand how a broken target could be missed in trap as targets are broken much farther away than on a skeet field.
I'm sure someone was filming the Gold shoot off and that could have been reviewed if Rutt contested the target.
Still these Olympic class shooters are indeed the cream of the crop. I've had the opportunity to shoot with some over the years. The ARMY team was always fun to have around too.
