Lower link?

Post by Nath »

Guys, quick question. Are all the lower links on a 94 the same?
I can get a new 357 one to replace my repaired one on my 30/30.
Thank you.

No, different rim diameters dictate different heights on the stop. Also 2 different attachment methods for the link itself. A threaded cross screw (same as hammer screw), and a cross pin w/separate retaining screw.

Thanks Griff and yes if I remember correctly the 357 has a taller stop than the 30-30 which is ok because I can remove some of it and yes check for the keeper screw hole as mine has.

You could always weld yours up, oxygen/acetylene using a steel coat hanger as fill rod. After shaping to finish size, heat new stop to cherry red, quench in oil to surface harden. Better'n new!
