During the first year of life as a married man, I had the occasion to peruse my new wife's old family recipe box. She is descended from a very old American family from Virginia, back to the 17 century, and the box itself contained entries that are old and fragile, yellow and delicate with some in pencil, fountain pen and some newer ball point ones. I found a small yellow one in fountain pen and reading it's conclusion of "Loved by All Men" I told the Wife that this was a bold statement, a recipe loved by all men, a very bold statement.
She explained the recipe was a method to doll up Thanksgiving leftovers, specifically turkey legs, and that the statement concerning all men was true, and she would provide the truth of the matter at first occasion. After evaluation of this boastful dish, I would acquiesce to the truth: Seriously good and she looks good cooking it
Deviled Turkey Legs
Mix a paste of Coleman's Dry Mustard (no other will do) and water, enough water to spread easily- cut a few gashes in the leg, sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper, spread the legs with paste, rather generously (this takes 4 or 5 teaspoons of the dry mustard). Heat about half a stick of butter in a frying pan and brown the turkey legs in this. It needs only to heat well and brown "just eough." Loved by All Men.
A Bold Statement

Sounds good.....
Since I like to tinker, I might use a little honey in that mixture?? Or not?

My favorite thing to do with leftover turkey is to use it in a noodle soup.
