Savage 9922 high power value ?

That Model 1899 has a few demerits that would IMO reduce it's value from a $650+ collectible to a $350-$400 (+/-) shooter:
* D/T'd for scope mounts
* Recoil pad
* Inlays (custom features generally appeal only to the person who did, or had done, the customizing)
* Wood refinished
* Metal refinished
* Stocks drilled for sling swivels
* Unpopular chambering (currently)
On the positive side, it's still a Savage 1899; and if it's anything like my ca.1914 .303 Savage 1899, it should cycle as slick as a grass snake, & be plenty accurate to boot !
IIRC, in it's heyday, the .22HP was used to pop African Elephants, to show how powerful it was.
