Doc, the Gold Cups have a rib down the top of the slide. The easiest thing to see anyway. They used to have better fitting and triggers but I don't know if that's still true or not.

Good morning
The 70 series are real hard to beat in my experience. No Gold Cup right now but have a A1 model that shoots as good as I can. Made in 74 the year I ETS'd from the Pickle Suit experience. This one will stay with me a long time.

Exactly right. Adjustable trigger, micro adjustable, serrated Bullseye style sights, National Match barrel, etc.
They were the old standard of Bullseye match shooting. My dad has recently gotten back into it and bought the same pistol a couple weeks ago. I was really impressed by it and decided to get rid of a couple things and get back into the Colts. Still need to replace a Combat Elite and a Delta, but those will come.

I'm still shooting my Series 70 I bought at the San Diego Marine Corps Recruit Depot gun shop on 06 July 1974. I'll guess it only has a gazillion rounds through it. 5 years ago I replaced the hammer + sear which seemed like a good plan since that sear interface surface was getting a bit worn in a weird fashion. It is otherwise like I bought it, and still has the original recoil spring, works just like it was designed to do.
