As I understand it, and I could be wrong, components don't require background check. Still, I won't buy any components in California anymore. I'll buy them elsewhere and let that location have any taxes associated with the sale.Shasta wrote:So if a background check is going to be required to purchase ammunition, I can't help but wonder what the idiots in charge will do about those of us who reload so only purchase components? I expect they will probably make brass, bullets, powder, and primers require a background check too.![]()

I'm sure that when Gavin Newsom becomes governor in 2018, filling out a notarized form explaining just why you are leaving to visit another state, will be required, along with a 10 day waiting period, before being issued a travel permit.m.wun wrote:Hop, skip, and a jump to Vegas boys!
NY passed a similar law a few years ago. Of course there's no way to implement it, so they don't. But it has stopped 99% of the online/catalog sales from out of state. Now certain companies, Midway for one I believe is really playing "cover your butt" and isn't selling components to NY either.Shasta wrote:So if a background check is going to be required to purchase ammunition, I can't help but wonder what the idiots in charge will do about those of us who reload so only purchase components? Hey Glen...did ya hear the news? For real, it looks like that law is going to be changed as lots of these youngsters want to hunt with their AR's.cas wrote:Except hunt with a semi auto.Sixgun wrote:

If that happens it'll be the end of the Remington 760 (or whatever they call it now) not that I really cared for pump centerfire rifles .Sixgun wrote:Hey Glen...did ya hear the news? Hey man...let's plan on another get together this coming year. I miss those old ones. We could probably do it at the Ridgway Rifle Club just by going up a day early for an upcoming silhouette match.----6

Respectfully, do you think that limiting another man's choice about firearm choices is fair dinkim because of a personal opinion? I know, I know....butSixgun wrote:OK Redhawk.....maybe I need to educate myself a bit and yes, there should be a mag limit with the semi's. I think it's because I remember the middle sixties when the majority of hunters were WW2 vets and I vividly remember, in Centre County, despite the law, a few of the "the older guys" would hunt with M-1 Carbines with 30 rd mags...and they emptied those mags.In Colorado, my son uses a Ruger AR in .308 for elk.
You got me thinking now.....I could use the BAR....might be a bit heavy but I'll stay close to camp!-----6
With Nevada having kept Harry Reid in office so many years, and then the state going blue this election, Nevada won't be safe from idiotic elections either, for very long.m.wun wrote:Hop, skip, and a jump to Vegas boys!
I was driving in 97, and at a truck stop in northern Kali...Yrekia?.....there was supposed to be no smoking, but everyone, including some of the local LEO's were flipping the bird to the law and were all lit up. I smoked at the time, and an old grizzled trucker said the State Hippies could go blank themselves...handirifle wrote:With Nevada having kept Harry Reid in office so many years, and then the state going blue this election, Nevada won't be safe from idiotic elections either, for very long.m.wun wrote:Hop, skip, and a jump to Vegas boys!
This past election should not be a fluke, it should have the turn out from conservatives like that EVERY election. He got the electoral votes but their numbers are growing. They are like maggots on a dead carcass that kill every freedom they do not agree with.
You guys still have light at the end of the tunnel, but unless you get motivated and stay that way, it WILL change. When I cam to CA in 72 it was an entirely different state, laws and people. Conservative thinkers were a huge majority.
The left is slow, methodical, patient, and WELL funded by the likes of Soros. Do NOT underestimate their tenacity.
We need a new set of video games and movies. Instead of based on zombies, it's liberals.
I'm convinced they WANT us to leave, then they will have the state to themselves.

IDAHO bound,
Bought 5 acres in Emmett surrounded by BLM land on two sidesand am in the process of turning that into my dream home.
Born and raised here, stayed for the job, but have been unhappy here for years! The friggen state has put one to many straws on this camels back, AND it's only going to get worse here, I finally can financially afford to get out..
Excited in moving to a place where my values are in tune with the state and local government and its citizens![]()

Your absolutely right ..6John,
The secret is not to tell anyone. 25 years ago, in Kal., property values escalated to high levels, many people sold their homes, made a mint, moved to a very red state called Colorado. The only problem was they brought their liberal values with them. Now it's blue. ----6
