You could probably get a gunsmith to drill and tap it for one...Ysabel Kid wrote:Looks nice - just needs one more screw on the side-plate!
I'm at 357 mag level myself --- I don't shoot enough to be able to handle the big battardsSixgun wrote:I've been shooting handguns with regularity since 1972 and the 44 mag is about the most I can handle

I guess it's a great thing Ruger has done with these hand cannon.....just not for me.----6
...I think there may have been more; like the one from California (me), whose .44's penetrated 7 jugs of water like this entry in that thread:Grizz wrote:...Anyone who is comfortable shooting a .357 Magnum would be more comfortable shooting heavy subsonic bullets from a 44 mag, or 454, or 480, with improved whack power on the business end. When loaded this way the recoil from the heavier guns is much less obnoxious than folks assume.
...only two shooters that I know of investigated. One was Bestlever, and another was a guy in MO who did an entire workup on the 405 load, customized for his redhawks. Forget his name. He got thru penetration of 13 water jugs at I believe 1050fps from the 5-1/2" barrels. Most cartridges from most firearms won't do this...

Back in the hog hunt in the mud a few years ago, that load from my Rossi M92 had a pass through on a 150 pound hog and the sound was bang WHAP flop. The pig was hit on its left shoulder and got barrel rolled 270 degrees. Its legs prevented it from going completely to 360 degrees. Large, wide, and sort of slow is effective on mid sized pigs in my limited experience.
You were referring to my regular load, I believe - 240 grainer .44 Mag at about 1000 fps.Grizz wrote:...
Did you jug test the second load? [snip]
