No worries about the grease leaching into the mixture? I've heard of wiping wax to seal the frizzen on flintlocks, but not grease on caplocks. But, hey, if it works!

When loading my front stuffing rifle for deer season I sometimes let a drop of molten wax drip from a lighted candle onto the capped nipple. Makes a seal that moisture can't penetrate and as long as the temp is cool won't go anywhere you don't want it. Works for me.
