Things got a Cummings diesel and 1100 wheels same as on a road tractor !
This thing impressed me even if it is a Ford . Could be the perfect hunting truck with a new paint job .

My first car AFTER I got my license was a '63 1/2 Ford fastback with a 406 Tri-Power, top loader 4 speed, detroit locker rear end w/3.91 gears. Have a picture of it somewhere...need to find it. First car BEFORE I received my license was a 1960 Ford Falcon four door with a 85HP six, three on the tree, that I bought for $15 at a Ma Bell auction (It was mostly rust with some dark green paint and a gold bell on the doors). Drove that car until I was old enough to get a license (about a year), a quart of oil a day to go with the gallon of gas I put in it. Had to park on a hill to start it as the battery had a dead cell and would lose it's power after a couple of hours. But, get it rolling just a bit, pull the choke, and pop the clutch in second gear and the beater would start in -20'F weather on the first try. 'Course the heater could not keep up with the air flow through the rusted out floors.gak wrote:My very favorite Ford, color 'n everything. '63 Galaxie XL Convertible. Unfortunately not mine. Nicest big car--ever IMO. If you remember, this was back when the manufacturers changed styling every year. The 61s, 62s and 64s were good years too, but this took the cake. In '65+ all of 'em lost it on the big ones--again IMO.
One of my buddies that happens to be married to the daughter of the local Harley dealer (that has the Chevy K-650) used to have a F-350 Crew Cab 4x4 with the V-10 gas motor . That was a long long truck , but it just didn't compare in awe appeal to this F-650RIHMFIRE wrote:We have a few contractors down hear that use them....
Kinda makes my F350 look small
