Buster, if You didn't buy that 64 could You post the contact info on the classifides as I'm sure some other Levergunners would be intrested in a Hunter Grade Model 64.

Re: Win 64 price check
If the bore is better looking than the outside, I'd try to knock a few quid off the price and go for it! Provided of course, you're lookin' for a shooter and not a safe queen.

Re: Win 64 price check
I don't need one as I bought mine here five years ago on a tip from a fellow Levergunner who put it on the classifieds (Thank You Levers) ..anyway there are alot of Levergunners from Canada who would surely enjoy a fine rifle at an afforadble cost.
Re: Win 64 price check
Here's the other 64 but this one is $850

Re: Win 64 price check
2 years from now the money will be gone. If you buy the rifle, at least you will remember where your money went For what it worth I would buy it in a heartbeat!!!!!!!!!!!
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Re: Win 64 price check
Been a long, long time since I've seen a Model 64 that cheap in any condition. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Re: Win 64 price check
Which one? The one at $475 or the other at $850?

Re: Win 64 price check
If that $475 rifle had a good barrel I would be all over it here in the U.S. thing are not getting cheaper.
Re: Win 64 price check
The $850 gun is overpriced. The sling swivels are after market and detract from the gun considerably. It's "real time" value is more like $550, tops. I bought a VERY NICE 1947 Model 64 from a fellow forum member for a lot less that.

Re: Win 64 price check
I will probably buy the $475 rifle but I need a front sight hood (an original not a repro), anybody has an extra one for sale? I'm in Canada but I'm sure it's not a problem to ship one here.
Re: Win 64 price check
The cheapest 64 I have seen around here was $575. It had a 64 barrel, a 94 straight stock and lever, and was obviously cobbed together. The only other ones I have seen were a deluxe model in excellent condition for about $1200, and a decent one at Cabellas for $850.

I don't mind living vicariously through you. Go ahead and buy it:)
