Local guy has a 9422M (22WMR) with the orange-brown laminate furniture and a Texas-made Weaver 2.5 scope in Weaver tip-off rings for sale. There are no scratches or dings anywhere in the laminated furniture, and no wear or rust on any of the metal. Seller claims it was fired less than 50 rds, and I cannot tell if it was fired at all. The 9422M feels a tad heavy in the hand, but I'm used to shooting lighter 22LR and 22M rifles of late.
Seller wants $400, and I'm leaning toward pulling the trigger. Comments?
UPDATE: Bought & paid for:
Replaced the broken rear sight with a Williams, and removed the scope.

Might as well face it, you're addicted to guns . . .
I would have no problem paying that amount for a 9422M in excellent condition. The scope would have no bearing on my decision as it would come off the second I owned the rifle. Mater of fact I'd tell the seller I didn't want it and see if he'd come down a bit. If not no biggie.

I say buy it.Sounds like a good deal.I've always liked the looks of that
laminate wood.I also like that tad heavy in the hand feel.

Made an appointment with the seller for this evening to do the sale.
He fessed up that the stamped rear sight has one half of the folded dovetail missing, and the sight is pretty loose, "but you'll be using the scope anyway." WRONG. Maybe some other rifle of mine, but IMO, scopes don't belong on levers. No matter on the rear sight; I have a nice stash of rear sights and elevators I've gleaned from local gunshops. They can't seem to sell a rifle without a scope being mounted on it, and each dealer has a box or drawer full of "spare take-off sighting parts."
I appreciate the input from everyone very much! Pics to follow late tonight or sometime this weekend.

sight's easy to replace. SOLD! now, if you can use that sight issue to get the price even lower, great, but don't leave without the gun. That one's a sure winner on growing in value.
Replaced the rear sight with a Williams and sighted it in on Saturday. Dead on at 100 yds. Guy next to me shooting a scoped AR15 couldn't believe the 9422M could hit the same spot time and again without a scope.
