A conundrom

A good friend of mine, just offered to pay half on a 3 day pronghorn hunt in Montana, so I could get a chance at an "away" trip. I'm sort of staggered by his offer and generosity, I don't even know what that would cost, as I'm really not in a position for these kind of trips. He's done wel...

I feel for you brother... There isn't a place left I can think of that hasn't been developed, or bought by a town or the county for "open space". Open space means you can only look at it as you drive by. Good luck with your move, and think of us poor schmucks once in awhile that have to st...

It's pretty easy to tell a legitimate hunting dog, on the other hand, mixed breed, pit and shepherd crosses in areas NOT legal for running deer are up to no good, ESPECIALLY when caught in the act. Good owners or bad, these dogs create a lot of problems and many are dangerous to people to boot. Gran...

I'd of shot it and moved on, it's what is right, and nobody needs to know. In fact, we don't need to know.

I wouldn't want to eat it in that condition either.

I have guys come by to pick up crabs, usually in the dark, I've made the mistake before of just sticking the money in my pocket, but then sometimes you can't remember who paid what, or at all. Now I always count out the money in front of them, not that I don't trust them, but it stops the guessing g...

I've already got them in most places you screw in a bulb, they DO NOT last 5 years, they don't like to work in outside buildings when it's cold, they don't like vibration, as in ceiling fans. Other then that, for general lighting, you really don't notice them, maybe for doing detailed close work, yo...

Interesting how so many of us choose paper plates for a target, been using them over 30 years also.

Simple, cheap, and available everywhere. :D

Sometimes when sighting in a scoped gun, I'll make a "cross" with black electric tape to line the crosshairs up with.

Cubrock, I'm up in Long Island ,NY , the land of overly restrictive pistol permits, and even having fun is probably a violation.

I wouldn't know where to begin trying to get it on my permit if you drove up and gave it to me,lol

Thanks for the offer though.

OK, I see Ruger looks like the best option, so now... What Bbl length do you all like?
I kinda like about 5", but not set on it.

Ysabel, that walnut grip looks nice, seems only the plastic grip is now available?

LOL, nah, no laser on the wheel gun,
I fully understand that such devices can lead to bad habits, but I'm ok, I actually know how to use the sights, lol, never shot less then DE on any firearms qualification courses with the revolver.

But..it does look interesting for a self defense weapon

OT Crimson Trace laser grips?

Saw their ad in the American Hunter mag and checked out the web site, anyone have any experience with these? Kinda expensive, and never really considered something like that, but was curious if you folks had any feedback on those types of laser grips, or any laser systems.
Thanks

There is brass wool available, I think the kitchen Chore pads are copper.
I usually just use fine steel wool and a light oil.
Flitz is a polishing cream that will remove light rust also.

Well, usually, I just load 3 -5 in the tube, and carry a few extra in my pocket.
Other times I'll have a partial factory box in a day pack.
Can't remember the last time I needed more then 2- 3 rounds,
(Hunting), and that was when I shot two deer and a turkey the same morning.

The absolute fastest way to a decent edge, unless you have the paper wheels, is those key ring thingees with the carbide inserts that you drag the knife through the "V". Yes it removes some extra metal, but it's completely idiot proof and gives a darn good edge. I know some Montana guides ...
