The one I played with, we found if we used .223 brass; to form the .256 brass, we got more reliable feeding in rapid fire mode.

STOP OVER-REACTING
the reason for lapping scope rings after they are installed is to prevent any tweaking/warpage of the scope tube in final configuration.
Lapping rings is easier than falling off a rock.
If you are not doing it, you are not serious about accuracy.

Low power fixed scope.
Learn to shoot it long and short, both eyes open.
Fixed scope will be lighter, more rugged.
Thats what I do on mine.
A word of caution,
people who see you shoot, after you become proficient;
tend to stay away from you.

I was 56 when I retired and moved.
Having said that, I had planned for years, and purchased property and items well in advance of the move.
Perhaps that will help, keep in mind I am single, no children, not deeply rooted in family.
