Tried the Wnchester 150 factory loads and found them to be a waste of time in my rifle . There was a reason they dropped them long before cutting back to the 200 grain load only. I'm betting you will like the Speer bullets though .

Hi Eddie, The 86 breechbolt has the cutout for a cartridge guide spur on the right side (that semi-circular one). The Model 71 cartridge guide lacks the top spur so no cutout was needed. I've got both and other than that cutout they appear to be the same. Mr. Pickle's The Models of 1886 and 1892 on...

Looks like a m71 bolt . They quit making the '86 in 1935 and didn't make the bolt peep until 1936 . How is the sight marked ? The locking lugs on the m71 were tapered , the lugs on the '86 were not.

Use the Lee FCD and your bullets won't move. They don't move in the .450 Alaskan or Fuller using the FCD . .450Fuller highly recommends the Lee FCD's use.

That or the Hornet is about all I use if actually targeting Coyotes. It's plenty. I have also used a .22-250 , .243 , .25-20 , .38-40 and others when that's what was in my hand when I saw one . Never noticed the others killed any better than the Bee. I use the 35 grain Vmax about 90% of the time.

They used them and the .218 Bee both in Alaska for years for everything from seals to Polar Bears . Cheap to load and a chunk of lead and a pound of powder put a lot of meat on the table . Probably wouldn't do it again but I have killed deer with both cartridges.

Tell about the area you will hunt the most , are the shots under 50 yards generally or over . What to buy depends on the area you hunt as much if not more than the game hunted. I have killed many hogs with a .22 short in the soft spot behind the ear but I did it at close range , not at 100 + yards. ...
