Re: .35 Rem in a Marlin 336 Questions

Just looked at a 35Rem and a 32Win Marlin 336 yesterday. The 32 was about 50-60% metal, all honest no damage. $459. The 35Rem was a '50s gun, smooth stocks of course - better finish but had a couple chunks and cuts in the forearm and stock. $679. This is a decent shop with realistic, cash-only prici...

Call it what you will but there's one thing I hate: those nylon pop-up blinds that come in camo patterns. And prices to match. People complain about ticket prices today, but air travel used to be a luxury that was hard for most to afford. even in the 1970s, a ticket to Alaska was usually $1,000. By the early '90s, it was usually around $900. Today it can often be done for $600 or less. What is $1000 in...

The Winchester catalog for 2014 shows no M71 - dropped again. I'd look for an '86-87 Browning for the best out there. Winchester production is great for nostalgia but double-triple on the used market, and usually have damage and wear. One can find the Browning guns, especially the High-Grade fancy-p...

Opinions needed... We know the Browning M71 guns were made for only two years - 1986-87. Maybe a few outside that range but I've never seen it proven. We know they are rare numerically - about 3000 +- per version, with the Blued steel/Walnut 20" and 24" guns and the "High-Grade"...

The Ithaca 72 Saddlegun was indeed made in WEST Germany by ERMA Werke, with the 22 WMRF barrels made by Lothar Walther.
