I think the 44special is among the best cartridge for outdoor use, but the days of the Saturday night special or switchblade armed holdup man are long gone. Todays thugs attack in multiples with glocks and 30rd stick mags. On the rare occasion i carry its usually a 5 shot 38 but i dont pretend for a...

I have two 7.5'' that i enjoy. The sights are a bit hard to see one handed at arms length but they run great with black powder. Poi for mine is pretty close with smokeless but around 3 to 4 inches high with black using around 30gr fff and a 200gr bullet. With the sun behind me and blacked out sights...

Ive had that happen to a few uberti's and have always been able to smooth face out with diamond paper and keep them shooting. I suspect it has more to with with dry firing and mainspring pressure than the load since i was shooting black only in those days fyi. That 231 load sounds like a nice one.

Id say the old police loading is pretty much a 41Keith, which does not kick as bad a the 44 fyi. 200gr at 1000fps should kick less than a hot loaded model 25 which is a lighter gun.

Easy 357 mold question

Whats that standard old 158gr swc all the cast bullet companies offer a bulk 500rd box of? Any story or history there? Was it a match winner or gold standard at one time? Never heard any reasoning as to its popularity. Thanks

For me its all about the convenience of using the lee dippers. I can make 50rds in 30 minutes in any caliber. You can probably guess my loads. I get 3g or 4.5gr bullseye, 8gr unique, 13gr or 20.7gr of 2400. I do pretty much everything with those 5 dippers and 3 powders except bottleneck rifle and bl...

My 357 target load is meant to mimic my hunting load cheaper and easier. I use a dipper that throws 13gr 2400 in a mag case with mag primer then deep seat a bulk 158gr swc (not a good one) and crimp over the front driving band. I see no change of poi out to 50 yards from my max jhp loads. So its red...

I've been browsing some distributor websites and have noticed they all got a couple winchester models and a few marlins and then a ton of various henrys available.
