So, a couple months ago I tried my hand at an auction after seeing this one come up. Not that I needed it (but when has that ever been the criteria?). But I got it for a song (until all the fees hit! ). Came in barely able to function, but I disassembled it, cleaned it thoroughly, and now it works like a charm. And it is fairly accurate (or rather, as accurate as my aging eyes will allow with the pipsqueak sights ).
Ah what a fine example of the pocket gun some say really tamed the west. Sold 10 to 1 against the holster models yet never captured the imagination of grand dad.
I had a Webley in the same caliber, with a few H&Rs too, but they were all moved on as I've now focused my collection on the many variants of the H&R 999 Sportsman series. (I will have to post a family picture of those some day.)
Lift the latch when closing it too -- never slam it! -- and the barrel-to-frame lockup will remain tight for years.

Sorry for the delay -- was away on vacation.

A well-deserved vacation! Hopefully you did not pick up COVID like I did at the end of my well-deserved vacation at the beginning of the month!
