Re: What is a fair price for gunsmith work on a Marlin?

Thanks guys! :D The snap caps I use are the Azoom brand, red aluminum ones with the rubber primer if that helps at all. The .357s are flat nosed and the .38s are round nosed. The Marlin was bought new, but I figured I "burned" the warranty, when I "took it apart" in an attempt to...

What is a fair price for gunsmith work on a Marlin?

Hi. I'm having a bit of trouble with my Marlin 1894 in .357 and I am not comfortable trying to do the work myself. The trouble is that the extractor doesn't grab the rim of the cartridge sometimes and ends up with double feeds, or having the lever itself "lock up" so that it will not move ...

Re: Motorcycle pictures

I can only look on with envy.

My wife is so scared of them that she has not only begged me not to get one, but swears that I can get any gun I want as long as I can pay for it.

(I have a BIG list. )

Re: Vehicle Expedition Lever Gun?

If I was going to the border, I'm almost thinking a Browning in 308 with custom 20 round mags and a short stroke action kit. throw on a good red dot sight with solid irons as back ups and I'm good to go. For Alaska, Which is more of an unknow for me, I'd debate between the 45-70 or the 500 S&W c...

Re: .22 Rimfire favorite

My favorite .22 rifle is my Henry H-001 and my favorite handgun is my Heritage Rough Rider. They aren't fancy, but they always end up at the range with me. (I think they sneak into the carry case when I'm not looking. :D )

I'm no where near as good as you guys.

The furthest I've shot is 50 yards at paper/stickers.

Re: OT- official state gun

If we're going that route, I have to nominate for Florida the Kel Tec P-11. http://www.keltecweapons.com/uploaded_files/ourguns/gallery/b_602ac9d947fa4ddc78e2b74954d8845eP11_7513.jpg I'm sure some are cringing, but given our early concealed weapon permit laws and our castle doctrine, this little pis...

Thanks guys.

The front barrel band was loose by a quarter turn. I torqued it down and she's right as rain.

Thanks again. :D

Need a little help with my Marlin.

I was stupid and admit it. I bought a Marlin 1894 and read online that it had a plug you could take out to get three extra rounds in. Well I loosened the barrel bands and pulled the loading tube out only to find it didn't have the plug. (Mine had the short barrel. I should've known better.) I...

Re: OT- Just got back from seeing "True Grit".

Took my dad to see it. It was his first movie in a theater in fifteen years. I loved it, he liked it. He had problems with the girl writing to her mom when, "She could barely read C-A-T." (I just figured someone read the letters to her.) Like the wise man said above: These are two diffeent...

Re: Best .22 Ammo For Henry H001?

Hi. Welcome to the site. :D I have a Henry H-001 and it loves Remingotn Golden Bullets as well as Wichester bulk. The only time I had any problem with mine was with Federal bulk. I'm not sure why, but they seemed to keyhole on the target for some reason. (I usually clean my guns after every range tr...

Re: New member

Hi. Welcome to the site. I recently did the same thing you're looking into. I wanted a short barrel .357 lever to go with my .357 Heritage and have for an all around carbine. I was looking for a Rossi 92 but .357 leverguns are so hard to find around me that when I saw a Marlin 94, I grabbed it. To b...

Re: .357 Magnum Hunting... Being Laughed At :(

While I don't hunt, I am glad to read all the success stories here. I was worried about how good the round is when a Florida game guide stated that the .357 didn't have enough oomph to create an exit wound in central florida deer. When I read that I thought maybe "Kieth Loads" were needed,...

Re: Why are single-action revolvers still so popular?

I hope you don't mind me jumping in so late in the game. I got my Heritage Rough Rider .22 single action so I could practice shooting affordably. (My first gun is a colt police positive in .38 short colt.) I was brand new to gun ownership and shooting and knew I needed something to make it fun to ma...

Hi.

Just wanted to say I've been been lurking and decided to join the fun. While not a hunter, I love levers and hope to learn lots.

Thank you.
