I recently bought one in 25-20 and would like to know if anyone has or does use one. Mine had some light rust in the two bores which I honed out so they are clean now. I assume your sprue is cut clean and there is a nice flat base? Also be sure to hold pressure down on the bullet when turning the wrench to apply more lube.

You may be good with the Ranch Dog for your Marlin as they are designed for them. I use the Ranch Dog in my 30-30 Winchester with good luck but have problems I mentioned in my 32 cals.

My Mom raised German shephards all while raising four boys. She sold them to the police and military and some individuals. Out of 100s of them we did have one crazy dog I had to shoot. It had blue tongue when it was small, maybe made it crazy. But this breed is my dog of choice.

Always feels good when you do it with a fine old rifle. I get odd looks from folks when they see what I hunt with. Like they never seen anything like it. Yea I got a Browning A-Bolt in 30-06 but it just aint the same. Next year Ill use my 32-40.

You may keep an eye out for the out of production CVA squirrel rifle. It is 32cal and is quite well made and has deep cut rifling.

I have the same 38-55 and installed a receiver sight ( it's factory drilled and tapped) and it shoots cast very well. I got mine used in nice shape about 8 years ago for about $325.00. It was a good deal I could not pass on.
