Ok some of you guys were asking about my axe in my 92 thread. Here are a few more photo's of it and anothe of a few other axes I've made. I also have couple of photo's of how I start making some of my pipe axes. There are many ways to make them and I use them all. This set shows how I weld up a tube and then and swage out the neck area.
This is a piece of wrought iron that I have started to make into a tube.
Here is the tube after it has been forge welded.
Here is the tube after I swaged the neck and behind it is my swage that I use.
WOW! Between Gobblerforge and now you... I might get inspired to build a new forge! Those are awesome! Makes my simple horseshoein' skils seem amatuerish!

There is a fine line between hobby & obsession! AND... I'm over it!!
No I ain't ready, but let's do it anyway!
Quite impressive. Just my opinion, but it looks as if any one of those axes would be useful for a multitude of hunting and camping purposes. How many people on this site have used an axe to split the pelvis of a deer or other game animal? Cutting firewood or making a shelter?

Okay, now you went and did it. Or, I went and did it when I joined in with those to see more of your hawks. I'd love to see a short tutorial done. Obviously, I need to contact you for more information. To cool and I mean all of it. Horns, knives, hawks......Love it.
Tahks guy's. Yes I do make plain old useful pieces as well as purty ones. I have two customers usually. Reinactors and collectors and the collectors want the purtty stuff.
