As stated that is the right position for the serial number.

As for the pictures, use natural sun light but not in the direct sun or stay further back so the flash can cover the rifle properly, zoom in with the lens if possible. Or crop to fit in the computer if you can not use a zoom.

A friend has a standard and there are no rabbit, squirrels etc in the yard anymore. Quite a hunter and very protective at times. His other dog is a border collie and they get the same amount of exercise as they both need it. About 4-6 hours a day of retrieve and running is required to tire them out....

This morning I received into inventory a 67# lead ingot. Country of origin is USA. 99.99% pure for use in alloys we make for electronic industry. Not all users are Rohs so still have uses for lead.

The $2 note never had the Parliment building on the reverse side. The $1 note did. The $2 note was replaced by the $2 coin in 1996. It is known as the Toonie while the $1 coin is the Loonie as it has a Loon (the bird, not the .......) on one face.

Shaky camera while focusing is a problem. A motorized follow focus rig would do it, but for the few times you need it, not really an option. I wanted a Red Label but the price was always out of reach. Finally I bought a Beretta Whitewing in 20 gauge for $700. There are deals out there just have to keep looking.

It would be worth sending a sample to the University of Alaska and have an analysis done using their mass spec machine. Cost a bit of money, likely under 500, but your well being is worth a lot more.

Have one at work. They also work well in removing the oils and debris from my sharpening stones. A little Dawn and water, and heat setting for a few minutes or a full 30 minutes for the neglected old stones.

If you are taking pictures of your important people and other important stuff with the sun directly in front of you, to it being at 90 degrees on either side. Be sure to use the flash. It will fill in those dark shadows and make better pleasing pictures. The shadows caused by hats etc can ruin great...

You have to use manual settings, if you can. Set your f-stop to the larger numbers like 11, 16 etc. Naturally you will have to increase the exposure times. Likely if you compare the length of the two bullets, the Noslers are longer. The shorter 100 gr bullets will work ok. Spire points are very marginal while the shorter soft points and round noses are fine in the 14" twist.

One could have the barrel shortened by a couple turns, rechamber, cut new extractor slot and reinstall. Might be more than the cost of a replacement though.

This is the heaviest that the slower twist barrels could stablize as far as I know. The bullets are short for their weight, that is why they will fly straight. My Sav 99 is dated around 1927. This is old stuff is in my locker. Likely also sold under the Winchester label back in the day.

I can understand cutting down the barrel from 32" but even at 28" that I have, you need a rest to hold the front end up for any time. As for the bird, I am no expert but maybe a wood grouse? Seems to have short wings vs a turkeys wings. Dark legs likely mean something to somebody.
