There's also been just a bit of technology improvement since the army adopted the .45 ACP.
So what's the response to a guy who takes 17 hits with the vaunted .45 ACP? http://www.policemag.com/Channel/Patrol ... -2008.aspx

Re: Sambar with the 444 and a trout
Very interesting. I've never hunted sambar, but I hope to change that here in a few months. We have a local island in the Gulf of Mexico that is well-populated with them and I intend to hunt them soon. Have to use bow or muzzleloader for ours, though.

Re: I didnt shoot my chrony but
All I'm saying is that I know first hand what a 180 grain JSP at 1650 fps from a 629 will do to a chrono.

Re: Rossi levergun sights
New, octagon 24 inch rifle.
Is there an option for a slightly taller front sight? I will be replacing the rear with a folding sight to make room for my tang peep.

Rossi levergun sights
Mine must have been put on by Jack Elam.
I honestly can't see any imaginable load that would cause POI and POA to be the same. Oh well. New, taller front sight, here I come.

Would it be silly to admit that I woke up this very morning thinking about what I'd have to do to have my own Sharps?

Re: Feeding Keith SWCs to my Rossi .357
I managed to hit the public range this morning, but only got my sighting rounds and then 40 chronoed rounds in before the idiots made their appearance. I'll get my chronoing done later, instead of deal with them. The .38 cases with Keith bullets fed perfectly, as expected. I fired the .357s with Kei...

Feeding Keith SWCs to my Rossi .357
I finally got off the pot and ordered a .357 rifle. Picked up my 24 inch rifle yesterday and I won't get to shoot it until tomorrow, but I've done some serious fooling about the house with it. The gun seems willing to cycle (more or less) the factory .38 loads I own, and the .357 Silvertips (which i...

Re: Rossi 92 future availability
Good luck with one if you can find what you want. I'm getting pretty frustrated waiting for what I want: 24 inch octagon barrel .357 Mag. I have one! :) nice guns. You're lucky. I got word tonight there's a vendor at the local fun show that has a 20 inch sitting back in his shop. He didn't bring it...

Re: Rossi 92 future availability
You can always contact our main man, the man with the plan on the 92s, Nate Kiowa Jones aka Steve Young of Steve's Gunz . Been trying to call him. I'd rather give him my money, if I can, than some of the others. He's not been answering the phone, so I'm going to send an email soon as I can remember...

Re: Musings from the Miller: Low count mags and butt cuff ammo
The only times there's such a thing as too much ammo is when you're drowning or on fire.
I make sure to carry enough ammo to get me through any potential issues, should I stumble onto another pot farm or a meth lab. Add to that I'm never in the woods without one of my pistolas.

Re: .357 magnum at 300 yds
Hi folks, I'm new here, but I've been lurking and reading for some time. COSteve will recognize me from the same user name on another forum. What was said above about long distance is absolutely correct. Three hundred yards really isn't that much for a .357 rifle. I fairly regularly go out to a shad...
