My new Uberti 1849 Pocket Model
Took some pics of my new 1849 Uberti Pocket model today and wanted to share. :) I've always loved the look of open top revolvers, but the large framed models felt a little too big for my hands. This one just feels perfect! Eventually, I'll add a Kirst Conversion cylinder (.32) and a loading gate cha...

Re: ACTION locked open on my 1892 (?)
I just noticed that there is no spring tension on the firing pin, but I can't imagine this having anything to do with the breech locking up. It doesn't feel like something fell into the breech and is getting in the way. It's LOCKED. Could it maybe have something to do with the vertical locking lugs?...

ACTION locked open on my 1892 (?)
Well, I cleaned my rifle tonight ... I didn't disassemble anything. I used a cleaning rod from the muzzle end and placed a cloth inside the chamber to catch any excess solvent and to help protect it from any damage that may occur from the cleaning rod being pushed through the muzzle end. It seemed t...

Re: chiappa/cimarron ladder sights
Bought a Cimarron model 1892 S.R.C. with ladder sights. I am about to embarasse myself, but I don't know how to use them. Please be kind enough to help a novice. Thank you. Congrats on your 1892! I have the Cimarron "ElDorado" model 1892. Shot it for the first time this past weekend and w...

Cleaning solvents and artifical case hardened finishes
I finally got a chance to shoot my Cimarron 1892 over the weekend .... what a blast! :D The action was silky smooth, everything cylced perfectly, and the rifle was surprisingly accurate right out of the box! My question is ... The rifle has a case hardened finish and I've heard that most cleaning so...

Re: Cimarron "El Dorado" Hoop-Lever '92
Chiappa 92 here has a single-hole "staple". Denis Thanks Dennis! I didn't think it was suppose to swivel like that. Get this ... I emailed Cimarron and was told that it should be connected on both sides and that it was probably "broken". Then they asked for pics. When I sent pic...

Re: Cimarron "El Dorado" Hoop-Lever '92
Regarding features, you forgot to mention the period correct ladder sight--shared with their other 92 carbines. Our very own NKJ has been working with the Chiappa folks on the new 86 model--to make it right out of the chute. It wouldn't surprise me if they've also taken some feedback on the 92s to ...

Re: Cimarron "El Dorado" Hoop-Lever '92
Thanks guys. :) I do believe Chiappa actually makes them. I looked at the Rossi models too, but this one had all the features I wanted ... a big hoop lever, saddle ring, case hardened reciever, 20" round barrel, and NO safety. Besides, it just seemed to be a better quality gun IMO. Hope to get ...

Cimarron "El Dorado" Hoop-Lever '92
I just thought I'd share a few pics of my new 1892 "El Dorado" .357 I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but the action feels really smooth right out of the box and the quality of the fit and finish looks pretty impressive. If it shoots as good as it looks, I'll be very happy. :) http:/...

New Cimarron "El Dorado" on the way!
Howdy folks! I just ordered my first levergun ... a Cimarron ElDorado in .357. :) http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a274/DinoBonanno/CimarronElDorado3.jpg Does anyone here own one? If so, can you maybe give me some feedback on what they like/dislike about it? For example, does it have any problems c...
