Had them too, they bite. When my brother got them, they had to go in and blast. Left a catheter in to keep him from swelling shut. Little string hanging out like a tampon. He started peeing blood a couple days later. Doc told him it was probably the catheter and to pull the string and remove it. :sh...

I would say try some factory ammo before making any decisions. Also, does it look like the front sight has been filed? All the ones I have shot tended to soot low.

LEVERevolution question

I have an older 336 and was wondering if I should replace the follower with a new model before using LEVERevolution ammo in it. I see the newer rifles have a dimple in the midde of the follower for the tip.

I have seen at least four up for sale around here recently and they seem to go pretty cheap. All were in very good shape.

Winchester 94 30.30 90xxx $249.95 OCT BBL MARKED CANADIAN CENTENNIAL 67

This one is still up for sale at a shop.

Kind of a long shot here, (levergun pun!), but you might check to see if the cartridge guide spring is catching and hanging up the fired case. It is the flat spring above the chamber that guides the cartridge into the chamber. If they get bent down they can catch. Looks like that may be it. Now I j...

Mine are that way too.

Not sure of the exact year, but it is presafety and has a two piece extractor. I had it pretty well apart for a cleaning.

39A not extracting

Just got it used. Previous owner had done some slightly questionably smithing to it. He tried to bevel the lever arm, but didn't smooth it out. But damage was not too bad. On a different note, the extractor looks in good shape and the bore is clean, but about one in four shots fails to extract. Any ...

Marlin 1894 C sights

Brought my new Marlin to a gunsmith to have an action job and a single piece firing pin installed. I had not yet fired the rifle. Upon shouldering it, the smith mention that the sights were pretty well out of alignment. Upon looking at it myself a few times, it almost seems like the front and rear s...

A couple decades ago I worked at a gas station that was three blocks down from a jiffy lube. We learned to immediately have them pull over to a corner so they would not ma...

It is .357 and .38 ammo. A friend's father had a couple cases of it. Neither my friend nor his father have any firearms in that caliber any more. Apparently it was in the back of the safe for 10 or 15 years.

Making ammo safe for tube mags

Does anyone know of a die or tool to uniformly trim or reshape FMJ ball ammo so it is safe to run through an 1894? Got a whole bunch as a hand me down.

I can always just save it for my revolvers, but thought I would ask.

Thanks.

Marlin 1894 and Blazer ammo?

Was surprised to read in the manual for my 1894C that I should not run Blazer ammo through it. Anyone know what it is about the design that causes the feed problems?

Thanks.
