Re: Leupold 6X scope
I can guarantee you that it's rock simple and reliable, but what application are you thinking of one for? A 6X fixed power for north of Brainerd has my curiosity piqued. Mostly pests and target. Lots of open land where I go up north too. Seems all my 3-9x scopes are set to 5-6x. It seems to be only...

Red Dot?
Red Dot is what I have been able to find, so that's what I've got plenty of (this is sure a crummy time to get into reloading). Can some of you tell me if you use it and/or like it for the standard rimmed pistol calibers? Or should I put the stuff on Craigslist and try to acquire something else? If ...

Never have owned a Randall but, in June 1966 I was slated to go to Vietnam. I tried getting a Randall before leaving but was told the waiting list then was a year. I ended up carrying a tried and true Marine K-Bar. Tom The Randall shop has always been willing to work special with active duty servic...

BTW, what's "vector" as used above? I got an idea, but wonder if means something else in aeronautics. Simply stated: direction. For an image in your head, picture a bottle rocket with the stick removed. ---- "Did you get the vector, Victor?" "Roger, Roger."

Black powder only would certainly help regarding pressures. They made/make BP only pistols out of brass after all. If simply reaming the cylinder is an option, perhaps .44 Russian (.44 S&W American) instead of .45 Colt would be a good choice. Honestly, ream the cylinder, mount a .44 barrel and h...

A Ka-Bar USMC knife is pretty much the same as the U.S. M2 fighting knife, of which there were more than one manufacturer. When I was in the service Camillus made them and that's what was available for purchase at the PX. I still have mine and it was/is a very serviceable knife that I carried quite ...

How does one quantify "worth it"? They are the finest knives made. Servicemen of all types have entrusted their lives to them for years. They've been to space and back and they just flat out WORK. To me the question is not are they "worth it" any more than is a real Colt or Winch...
