Marlin 39A sight question

I was looking through my gun locker this weekend and found my Marlin 39A. I took it out to the range and noticed why it had been sitting in the back of the gunlocker for a while. The front sight is huge! At 15 yards I was a getting decent groups for shooting off hand. I moved back to 25 yards and fo...

Re: 30-30, Is it adequate?

I once had a kid at a gun shop tell me that the 30-30 is good for a jackrabbit and nothing more. I hate this magnum-mania. I guess this kid has been reading Guns & Ammo. In last month's issue Guns & Ammo refered to a double action pistol as Double action only and on the first round and singl...

You guys are making me jealous. I will be missing out on the entire deer/pheasant season. I'm stuck overseas. I wish y'all the best of luck on your hunting.

Re: MOVIES - Enemy at the Gates

I love the movie. Yes Hollywood did make up some of the stuff, but it is still a good movie. Yes, I do watch it with my 1942 Mosin-Nagant.

Re: OT An old Mexican song (translated)

I did a little research and found that the mexican army was armed with Mauser 98 in 7X57. The rebels, on the other hand, were armed with an assortment of winchesters and other lever action rifles that they could get their hands on. It seem that things never really change, bolt action advocates look ...

Re: OT An old Mexican song (translated)

I don't have the words to the song but you can see a video that someone put together on you tube. There is a lot of old pictures in the video. I saw alot of winchester '92s a spencer and the rest I really can't make out. I heard the song years ago and totally forgot about it until I mispelled "...

OT An old Mexican song (translated)

I thought you might find this old mexican rebellion song interesting. (It might loose something in the translation) Its called my "30-30 carbine". It was originally sung around 1918. I would think that they are singing about a winchester 94. Old Mexican revolutionary song (my 30-30 carbine...

This is off the AFT's website. Pay attention to section B. Unlicensed Persons. It is better to hear it right from the horse's mouth. Go ahead and read the rest of the Section B FAQs. There is alot of good info.

Re: Trying lead bullets in my 30-30s

I have been using the Lee Universal Expander for a while now and I have no complaints. It takes a little adjustment but once you bell the case mouth just right you will not have any problem seating the cast bullet. After I seat the bullet I crimp it with the Lee Crimping Die with excellent results. ...

I am definitely not impressed with the wood. It like some one rushed the staining process.
