Re: Deer Hunting with Rossi 357 Magnum Factory loads ??
My first (owned by me) deer rifle was a Marlin in 357. Shot quite a few nebraska white tails with it. Always used the Federal 180gr Hollow point. No deer ever traveled more than 30 yards after being shot. About half dropped in their tracks, all were within 60 yards. I wouldnt be afraid to use the 18...

Re: would you pick a 357 pistol or a 45 colt for a gun fight
I guess you could look at it this way... what would you want your opponent to be shooting? a 357 or a 45 Colt? I recently purchased a Charter Arms Bulldog XL in 45 Colt. 2.5" barrel, weighs about 23 ozs. Been shooting Hornady 185gr and Underwood 135gr selfdefense loads throught it. Both shoot v...

Purchased a Charter Arms Bulldog XL in 45 Long Colt. It has a 2.5" barrel and weighs about 23oz. I fired Hornady 185gr ammo through it, recoil quite manageable, and it proved to be very accurate at 20 paces. GOing to try some Underwood 135gr ammo in it as well. Although recoil was manageable, (...

My Marlin in 338 Marlin Express would work. Most accurate lever I have owned, beats the BLR 308 all to pieces.
I had Mic McPherson do some work on it, that helped, trigger is unbelievable, and this gun shoots really well.

I asked this similar question a few years back. The wildcat you are thinking about be roughly the same as 356win, maybe bit less velocity. Have opportunity for a Sako L61R 300 win mag. Have not laid eyes on it yet, might be a "deluxe" model,
If in good condition a might consider it, for the right price.

I have a Sako Forester in .243 that I like very much, figured the L61R would be similar.
