In just the last few weeks I've bought a 1951 Marlin 336-A in 30-30 and a Savage 24V in 30-30/20 gauge.

I'm done for a while, my meager budget has been decimated with these two and all the extra moulds, sizing dies and the neat stuff that goes with 'em!

My Dada and I killed a lot of deer back in the '70's and early '80's with a couple Ruger Super Blackhawks using a 180gr Hornady JHP and 10 grs of Unique.

I really enjoy my .45-70's. But there is something about this Marlin CB 38-55 that really gets me going. Maybe it's the 280gr cast I'm getting close to 1800fps and 1 1/2" groups. Maybe it's the way it has been killing elk for me.

25-35's are neat too.............. :lol:

I have one of the high grade Japanese '86's. Could NOT be happier with the quality. I have a few pre-1900's '86's and I can say that the quality of the Jap rifles are second to none. Might not be an old Winchester but man oh man are they nice.

I hate to say it, but I have darned near anything I ever wanted :shock: A 1936 Model 71, an 1891 '86 in 45-90, a Model 64 deluxe in 25-35, a couple of Marlin Cowboys in .44 mag.

But if there is one other thing I would LOVE to have, I reckon it would be a Marlin Cowboy in 25-35!

Yep, we got ba'r starting to skulk about here. Skunk cabbage is starting to come up, the bear follow it. Starting to see where they are coming out to eat the cambius layer on the fir trees where I hike.

I ran into the same problem. Even at 1850 I was getting very visible yaw at 100 yards. Once I got them moving at 2100fps I had no visible yaw at even 250 yards. But man, were they whompers on BOTH ends :shock:

I've had really good luck with the 200gr RCBS and 37.5 grs of H322. I get 2000fps out of my T/C and 1" 5 shot groups at 100 yards. Truly a great load. A few friends that shoot the same load out of their Marlins also get 1" groups or so and love it also.
