Well finally got to take the uberti out to the range, but I didn t get far.First few rounds went off like clock work, then kept getting jams.I have to cycle the lever fairly hard to get the extractor to rise over the cartridge rim otherwise it .won t extract the case.I was thinking on maybe polishin...

marlin 1881 light weight frame

I ve seen a Marlin 1881 in the light weight frame that was rebored to 45/70.I know the lighter frame was only originally available in 38/55 and 32/40. Would the lighter frame be able to stand up to shooting factory and BP loads
with out any problems?

The first thing I would do before purchasing a Rem 81 is buy the book the Great Remington 8 and 81 semiautomatic rifles.This book is a wealth of knowledge about the 81 and will help make your purchase alot easier.I just got one for xmas :D

I got mine NIB for $700 canadian and I saw one this summer for sale going for $1400 and it actually sold.Thats the biggest problem with them, when you see them for sale the prices are usually for an unreal amount.

Mines' a Uberti Centennial with 28inch barrel in 45/60.I have a couple of other Ubertis(73 carbine in 22lr and a73 1 of 1000sporter in 44/40)and I like their quality so I went the Uberti.I chose 45/60 because in a pinch I can make brass from a 45/70 case.
