Re: Are these useful? .22 Derringer

I've had several over the years. Had a 5 shot derringer in 22lr/22mag made be North American arms I carried back in me beer joint days. It had two cylinders with it, and you HAD to take the cylinder out to load/unload it. You also HAD to hold the hammer back to take the cylinder out, or put it back...

Re: RIP George Jones

What a loss for Nashville, and the country music community. A member of the Country Music Hall of fame since 1992, and a Member of the Grand Ol' Opry since 1956. And a string of over 150 hits from 1956-1992, including 16 #1's. What a lifetime achievement. He will be missed and revered for many years...

Re: Anyone wear a Ghillie suit hunting?

I had one once, and it worked extremely well. I used it hunting deer crossings on property where I had no stand. My wife ruined it in the dryer. So i don't have it anymore. If you are going to get one, don't get the kit. It's way too much trouble. They have them ready made now. I got mine from Cheap...

Re: bucket list

Well, I guess I've always been pretty much a realist. I've never had visions of grandeor. Don't see myself being famous or anything, or being remembered for doing something noteable. I would like to hunt the Appalachian Mountains someday. I have never hunted outside of Texas. I have never seen a bla...

Re: Are You Shooting Less?

I started stocking up after the 08 election. I have alot on hand, powder, primers, cases & bullets. I am sitting on what i have until I see what the new normal is going to be. The ammo shortage and high prices is largely due to "panic buying". I have read reports of the DHS using stand...

Re: 308 vs 243

I'm new here, but i'll weigh in on this discussion if you guys don't mind. I have hunted whitetail in Texas for some 30 odd years, and have taken at least one, sometimes as many as three each year. Most were taken with a .243win. The only whitetail I ever lost was shot with a 22-250. I shot a 308 in...

Re: New guy from Texas

Thanks for the warm welcomes/replies. I live in Freestone county, just west of the I 45 corridor between Dallas & Houston, and east of Waco. I have 9 levers in all. I am working on posting pics. My newest is a 336 Marlin Zane Gray Century. Took awhile to find that one. I am a NRA member, and a s...

New guy from Texas

First post here. Not sure how to introduce myself. Didn't see a "new members" forum. Used this site for a reference for years. Good source of info. Own several levers. Been a hand loader for 15 years. Particularly fond of 44mag 444 marlin, and 35rem. Hope I didn't post this in the wrong pl...
