I was at the local gun store and noticed a 1873 saddle ring carbine on the shelf for $450.00; got it down for an inspection and find that it is rough shape, mainly rust (no pitting), a few missing screws (no big deal) and a stuck firing pin. Further research on the .45-70 carbide dies, I find they are not available for this cartridge because it is not a straight walled. Have to use lube.

the local gun store has a rossi model 92 stainless steel .45 cal rifle for $300.00
its in great shape, with no safety button on top of the receiver, sold by navy arms.
