Well Thank you all fit the help. I used the pictures and was able to get the safety slide out. It’s really easy about the third tome ya do it. I found a burr oN the front slot where the Safety slide rides on the main retaining pin and that was causing the hang up. (Homage to GunnyMack here) It works...

I had the stock off. I even had the pins out buuut, I am unsure how the “button/slide “ and the safety lever come out. I can get them out but at this point it’s a minor issue f I “take them out” I will probably need some new parts.

OK Obviously I am a mouth breathing uneducated clod! I am unable to remove the tang safety from my model 99 to identify why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. I want to remove the bar from the action and remove the actual safety button from the top of the tang. I suspect stuff or a burr or so...

I actually saw Steve McQueens 92 at the national firearms museum. I had to laugh at the gun and the cartridges in the belt. Gunny I use 44.0 grains of the now discontinued
4759 with a 240 grain XTP. After it was discontinued for about three years I found several pounds at a local shop. So I won’t have to change loads anytime soon(3 pounds left).

I am not trying to be a smart aleck but did you thoroughly clean the firing pin channel. I have quite a few Marlins and the only issues I have had with light firing pin strikes was either the adjuster mentioned above, someone cut coils off the spring to lighten the trigger, or the firing pin channel...

Jack. That is a new one on me. I have heard of people using a 2 inch sanding disc on a pneumatic scoffer bit never heard of an angle grinder while the rotor was spinning.
I finally got the lifter/carrier tog welded for the 50-110. My buddy now has it to polish out for the longer and larger case.

I have found the coolest old timey gunsmith/machinist ever. This is the guy that lined a Marlin 1897 for me, and did the rebore on my 1886 to 50-100-450.
