Re: My “Mountain Gun”
It appears new in the box from 2014. 5.5 inch barrel, I already replaced the hammer with a super Blackhawk one. It needs a trip to the gunsmiff for some trigger work. I can do it but he charges $35 and it's great when he is done sooooo. I need a belt mountain pin and a set of elk anter grips then it...

Re: How many of you have two loads for a particular gun?
My one Marlin 1895 I have three loads. One a 300 grain JHP load that is very accurate and quite a bit of recoil, great Hunting load. A 405 cast load for general plinking and goofing around. A 500 grain cast load sub-sonic because it is threaded and is capable of VERY QUIET and accurate shooting.

I feel EXACTLY the same way Old Win does, I have a 1893 Marlin in very good condition made in 1894, also in 38-55 and the first thing I did was put some rounds through it. Not excessive or often but yeah, I gotta shoot it.

I am not sure of the advertising aspect but, when my ancestors called a Henry, "that darn Yankee rifle you load on Sunday and shoot all week"; you know they thought it was an assault rifle. Ask native Americans and see what they think.
