I like the electric can opener line, so true. As to the p38 I haven’t used one of those in decades... I have been carrying a Swiss champ in the pocket of my fat boy pants for close to 30 years. I have two of the champs as I would truely feel naked without it even if I didn’t use it that whole day.

Pitchy, thanks for the post, and thank you for your service. After all your posts about making things and repurposing things I gotta wonder if any planes or choppers had “field expedient “ repairs with saw blades, spoons, pencil sharpeners ect? All meant in good fun.

I go to jug shoots here in Pa and i have a savage 308 and a 30-06 that will hit a half gallon milk jug at various distances out to 500 yards about every time.

Whoa whoa whoa just reread the op and 336’s from the 50’s don’t have notches on the upper tang the model 36 has them and the very early 336 from the 40’s may have had them. Is your “plate flat or sorta L shaped? Different animal all together.

I install the lower tang loosely with the spring on the hammeri strut but no tension. I have a tool I made (plate with a hole for the strut) but in the past I used to keep the retaining plate off to one side put the muzzle on a piece of carpet on the floor and use a semi stout flat blade screwdriver...

Nobody listens to me. I found that catheter lesson to have much more meaning to me than the “girls.”
I did teach my physicians assistant at my oncologist and she kept telling me how much better people liked my way. DUH.
But I am just a dumb nurse.

Call empire gun parts in Danville Pa. Craig is a great guy to deal with but he may not have taken an N frame apart for parts. But you never know he has provided me with a LOT of Marlin screws over the years.

Rained the whole way to York(about an hour and a half) at a couple points, especially when accelerating from a stop the old mustang got squirrelly. Not a pot of traffic though so ok.

General carry in the woods 4 to 4.5 ish depending on single action or double. I have a Redhawk with a 7.5 for deer and hogs that is wonderful as long as I don’t have to get it in service quickly.
Semi’s also 4 to 5’s.

WM they seem to have made two versions of the 22. My buddy has one that is more a bearcat size, and mine appears to be the same size and weight as my Hawes 357. The 22 has liners in the cylinder and barrel but it is marked as a 22. She shoots soooo I am gonna keep it
