Re: When Russia landed on Venus...
As an avid TN (telescope Nut) I vividly remember the Venera landings. The US news covered them very well at the time. I remember seeing the photos on the news my dad watched (NBC). Also all the astronomy magazines I read back then had details too. Believe me, if the USSR had any successful space mis...

The only good yote is a dead one I dont know about that. I like them. Love hearing the howls at night, love the few times I see them here in Ohio. Accurizing Marlin 375
Got a 375 Marlin a few months ago. So far accuracy with the few jacketed bullets I could find and a lot of cast bullets of various alloy has been dismal. It wears a 2 1/2X Weaver and I get occasional 3 shot groups around 2" at 100 yards but so far all AVERAGE groups have been in the 3 1/2"...

Unfortunately the coyotes are declining in my neck of the woods in NE Ohio. Used to love hearing their serenades at night, and loved seeing one go by while squirrel hunting. The areas where prairie dogs or sage rats live is usually not very good farm land. Even if a farmer breaks up the hard surface, and farmers break it up far better than rodents do. Yeah the demise of the buffalo is one of the things that bothers me about the past. Hard to believe train rides were offered to just shoot them and let them rot. The OPs question refers to which 1876 cartridge would you use, not which gun. In the 1876 I would use the 45-75. I shoot hard cast bullets in my Chaparral, 60% Linotype, 40% lead, with a load of 777 or Pyrodex RS. They are accurate, they are tough. Never shot any bear let alone a Brown. Probably wou...
