I arrived in CA 1986. Gas was 69cent/gallon. (Oh yes it was). I could work for 1 hour and fill up twice. 10 gallon tank.
Try doing that today.

243dave, Youmay not notice a decrease in mpg when you switch on your lights, but there is. Where is the extra power coming from to drive the geneator that little bit harder? GRIZZ, Making browns gas from electricity isnt useless, just pointless if you have to burn fuel to do it. Alternators do not put out vast amounts of electricity all the time. Its peak output occurs after staring an engine, when the battery has to be replenishe. All the remaining electrics in the veh...

Hi GRIZZ, Yes there are downsides to every type of vehicle powered by different fuels. It depends on how much you want to haul and how far you need to travel. That is the beauty of gasoline, and also the reason why we still use the piston engine. Its cheap and relatively reliable. Many years ago in ...

AmBraCol, I didnt realise you were down south. The best advice I can give you for the jetta and golf, is to stay up on the cooling system. Change the coolant regularly. A common problem is corrosion in the system that will block the radiator and bleed/return hose that runs from the top righthand sid...

bsp, A velocity of between 2000 and 2150fps with a 170grn bullet is more realistic and safer. That would be using w748 powder. I run my 307 win at 2400fps with winchester stated loads(170grn bullet). The 307 uses a bit more pressure and more powder, and asking this performance from the standard 30-3...

Barrel life in the 22-250 has been good for me. I dont use full loads of powder at max pressure or max velocity. I had a a tough time finding a really accurate load at max. The only downside to the 22-250 at longer ranges, is the wind drift factor. Take a look at some ballistic charts, and you will see what I mean. Depending on where you are shooting this may or may not be a problem. A good selection of bullets can be bought, ranging from very light to heavy depending ...

I dont think there is a quick way. You just gotta go through the motions and work up a load for the lead. If that powder does not work try the 2400 or unique. Go through a batch of lead bullets and check for weight variations, otherwise you may never find a good load. You found a good load for the j...
