I have a load worked up for my B92 in 44 mag. With #9 powder, 240xtphp and wlp my gun shoots under 2" five shots at 100 yards all day. I have the desire to find a good cast for my rifle to shoot and to hunt with. I posted up on Cast Boolits of my request and low and behold a guy who lives less than a mile from me said he had some 265gr Ranch Dog bullets and would gladly pass a couple handfuls along to me. I drove over and he sized some at .431 and .432 and using the AA#9 I could not get a decent group at 100 yds or 70 yds. My groups looked like a double ought pattern.
I would then shoot my xtp load and it would be right on. I have a miniture buffalo[size of a baseball glove] at 100yds and hit it with every shot using the xtp loads.
Any thoughts on cast bullets for my pea shooter?
Thanks and Oh yeah I left 'Busters' house with a 1952 39a.
Randy
Now what?

First thing I'd do is to slug the barrel. Then I'd clean it really good between the jacketed and the cast. Try different powders. I've always liked 2400 for .44's.

I dont think there is a quick way. You just gotta go through the motions and work up a load for the lead. If that powder does not work try the 2400 or unique.
Go through a batch of lead bullets and check for weight variations, otherwise you may never find a good load.
