Re: SBR's , SBS' s silencers -- how many jumped on Jan 1 ?
I have not jumped yet, but I am thinking about it. The $200 tax stamp was never really the issue for me, I hated to deal with the red tape, etc. You guys that have them, did you do a trust, or individual form? We have a local gunsmith that makes an integrally suppressed barrel for various guns, espe...

Re: .222 Remington/.223 Remington for deer
I guess my experience is limited with the .223, when it comes to killing deer, but I have not been too happy with it, using it on coyotes. Maybe I wasn't using a good bullet, but I was using softpoints. I have killed a lot of armadillos with it. And it works good on them. I have just never had the c...

I picked up a pre-64 Model 70 .270 for my oldest son's first hunting rifle. It's a year younger than mine, but mine's 30-06. It had a Leupold scope with a frozen magnification ring. I sent it back to Leupold and they sent me a brand new scope. I mounted it back on there, then sighted it in with som...

Legendary Lawman Model 94 Carbine
I bought this Legendary Lawman Carbine, probably 20 years ago from a friend, new in the box. But the rear sight was broken, as was not too uncommon for those post 64 Winchesters. So, I never even fired it, but I did remove the rear sight and installed a barrel blank and added a William's 5D receiver...

Thanks, actually I was bit scared of it, but the more I look at and examine it, the better I feel about it. When I look at the lack of wear on it, for its age, I think maybe it was a bargain compared to how much they usually cost, but I have not shot it yet, so the jury is still out.

No, it's not a lever gun this time. it's a model 70 Boltaction in .270, made in 1956. i looked at this thing a couple of times before at a local gunshop. It's really in pretty good shape, I think. The 35/30-30 goes back nearly to 1895 when the 30-30 was introduced. It was a common way to salvage a gun with a damaged bore prior to WWII. It has since become something a boutique chambering. JES reboring will do the conversion. Ballistics essentially duplicate the 35 Remington, and likely if Win...
