What rifle are you hunting deer with this fall?
Our NH deer season starts November 13th. I'll be sighting in a 1940 Model 64 in 32ws with an original tang sight and a mid-60's Sako L-579 in .308 wearing a Leupold 3.5-10 scope....2 of my favorite rifles and calibers. I used to use 220 Core-Lokts for the short time I hunted with an '06 in AK. Malamute was right about why. This past year I sent my last boxes back to AK to a Forum member there. You can't use GoreTex and be quiet! Look at Peter Storm breathable rain gear. If it's still made and the same as it was years ago it is very quiet and excellent protection. Or, camo fleece with a waterproof/breathable membrane. I can't recommend a brand but I'd start by looking on the Cabelas' websi...

Very nice Victor! Were the 9422's ever made with the long wood ahead of the band, like earlier 94's? Years ago I had a buddy that had a 9422 mag, it was a very slick operating gun, and fun to shoot. I like a saddle ring on a Model 94, but prefer a takedown thumb screw on a .22 like the thumb screw on the Winchester Model 61 and 62. http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l22/mod71alaska/Win6162-2.jpg I have a thumb screw installed on one 9422 so far (2nd from top) http:...

I have not used this ammo...I just bought some in .308...but take a look at Remington's "Managed Recoil" ammunition in 30-06. You should get very good performance out beyond 100 yards. Your heavier 30-06 rifle will absorb a lot more recoil than your 30-30 carbine, too. Also, your shoulder ...
