What great pic and view  Lot of great racks there.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

I used to go there from time to time when I was in college down that way. I once saw from the road about 75 tourists shouting and running after something through the fairly open woods. At first I thought it was a black bear cub, but as it got closer I could tell from the proportions that it was full grown, just way smaller than the black bears I was used to in Alaska.

Small or not, I was sure I was going to see someone injured - the poor bear had no nowhere to go with people on all sides.

Saw lots of deer, but I never had the opportunity to be there in the morning like that. Great photo.

Ansel Adams-one of my heroes/favorites from the B&W era. I have a calender with 12 of his most famous photos. I think, IIRC, he was the one that came up with the "Beers" formula of developers. Maybe it was Dr. Beers...either way,a legend in his own time.

He might have called it The Zone System, too.....He taught me lots about spot meters, and how to properly expose black and white film. I had fun with a Nikkormat, but, alas, I was destined to be a dilettante.
