I really pleased with my 336Y I picked up last winter, it's also a tack driver! I mounted a Leupould 2.5x scout on it and Skinner irons. I really like this little rifle. I did have to change out the loading gate spring for a Rangerpoint, it was very stiff and even working the gate 1000 times(100 tim...

If bad times or perhaps I found myself in a financial quandary, and given I live in the West and the availability of calibers on the shelves. I choose a Ruger GSR and a Glock 19. The G-19 will handle all my EDC chores and the GSR will take care of the hunting chores and things beyond the role of the...

Nice JimT! I've read the articles about the little Trapper many times, I'm glad she's still around. I see it's minus the scout scope. I have a Centennial trapper in .45 colt that has hundreds of rounds through it, and didn't know my lifter might break until a few years ago. I hope it doesn't break, ...

I only carry my G19 in kydex holsters that completely surround the trigger guard, And always watch for obstructions when holstering. A friend of mine got another nice muley buck with his original Win 94 in 25-35 this year, it was his first rifle as a boy. I think it was made in 1952.
He has shot black bear, antelope, deer and a boat load of coyote with that rifle.

I chose a Ruger scout rifle .308 with a Leupold scout 1.5x5 fire sight. Laminate stock. I've killed grouse and rabbits to elk with .308. It's just a handy rifle to have with you. It's a very practical. I could "get by" really well with an old '94 Win. in 30-30 with the joy of it's limitati...

Here in Wyoming, centerfire firearms must be capable of of 500ftlb of muzzle energy at 100yds for big game, I asked our agent here in town if .45 colt would work in a handgun, he didn't think it would but if I had a ballistics table that showed a load that would meet the requirement it would be OK. ...

So far I'm thinking of a pac style like schnees, whites or kennetrek.

Just picked up a stainless guide gun and am trying to decide to go with a scout scope or a conventional. I've taken two elk off the place I hunt, both were at 50yds or less. I have LEUP scout scope with XS sights on a Marlin 30-30, but for this rifle I was thinking of a 1.5-5. What are your thoughts?

Will the new model .357 handle the heavier loads or only the colt loads?
On the .45 the cylinders are pretty thin and I wouldn't shoot heavier .45 loads, just wondering about the .357.
I'm thinking about getting one, it would be used for more than CAS and like to use it for hunting and working.
