Last hour of the season deer hunt
I finally got to get out and hunt the last week-end of the season for my area. It's hard to find time when you're building houses for other people and yourself, trying to beat the heavy snows that are coming, but I shot a small doe with my Win. trapper in .45 Colt. I hit her with a BuffaloBore hard-cast 325gr, a little much for the deer, but the rifle is sighted in for that load, for the elk I hope to get, when I find more time.

In Indiana, judging by what I hear at the local gunshops, most folks think you need a 7mm Mag for a whitetail, or if you have to go to a puny 'legal' gun, a 500 S&W Magnum Handi-Rifle. I just love seeing them pass-by the .45 Colts and .44 Mags at the gun-shop...

Thanks guys, sorry I didn't get a picture.
I've shot about a dozen deer with it using a 250gr rnfp and 9gr unique back in Missouri, it's always worked just fine.
