I once saw a guy kill a prairie dog at 250 paces with a .22 LR. I have to say I really didn't think a .22 LR would do it at that distance. Kill the pd, I mean. I don't remember which .22 load it was, sad to say.

Keep the primers. You may want to make lighter loads some day, and those primers will still be good for many years if stored properly. Unless someone has a problem with you having "too many" primers around....

One of the hot topics in the early '80s gun magazines was the stainless steel handgun and how to make it black. So, several people came up with ways to do it. Not that there were so many ordinary blued-steel guns rusting to death, but apparently there were many people afraid it would happen.

There is "stainless steel" of several alloys, and then there is "stainless finish". The "stainless finish" is usually a nickel plating. Sometimes the "finish" part is in the fine print.

Your squad leader is not going to remind you to check your weapon every couple of days, you have to remember to do it on your own. He darn sure better be.....as well as every other single thing.
