Remington to buy Marlin

Hey guys I just read on another forum, that Remington is working to buy out Marlin Firearms....This could be good, or REALLY BAD...sorta depends on their plans with Marlin.

Thoughts?

Yep, armed security guard at the megachurch site. AT least he did the job well, considering he was confronted by a rifle-wielding shooter!

So, when this "temp" refuge closes again, where does Leverguns go to? I was wondering why the site disappeared, but never could find it. This 'temp' place does seem more like home to me, 'cause it's all I've known for Leverguns.

Thanks for providing it!

Hiya Warhawk! I remember you! I love this new little lever gun! It's a hoot to shoot! And yes, I drove up to WF to the Big5 there and got it on sale. Currently they're selling the Puma in all its variations for about 379$. BTW, I was treated VERY well at Big 5. I would be happy to drive up there in ...

Don't know if you have bought one yet, but if you are in the Western US and are close to a Big 5 Sporting Goods store they have Rossi 92s on sale for $399.00 in all calibers. Time to get shooting! 8)
Actually as of the latest Big 5 (9/30) email it was $379.99

Nice collection! I had a Win 94 30-30 with a Lyman peep on the rear, but while I like a peep sight, I really like the red dot sights for shorter range work.

What do y'all think of a red dot for a Marlin 1894c .357 ? I'm thinking either a JPoint, or an older Aimpoint, or maybe TruGlo 2x red dot. Done right, it should be possible to co-witness the irons with the red dot. The red dot will be exceedingly fast on target too. Since this isn't a long-range rif...

I'm thinking about sticking a JPoint red dot up top, or maybe a clone. Since the top is all ready drilled & tapped for a base...and it would make it super fast for target acquisition. Maybe a TruGlo 2x red dot...whaddya think?

Finally got my Marlin .357!

Finally, after searching high & low in the metroplex, I found a great deal on NIB 1894c in .357--took a 3hr drive to get there and another 3 to get home just to buy it, but it was worth it! Nice wood on the rifle, decent fit 'n finish overall, and a sweet shooter! DH thinks the rear sight needs ...

Price & quality check question

I am in the hunt for a Marlin or Rossi lever in .357mag. I have currently located a Marlin 1894C for $350 NIB, or a Rossi M92, brass receiver one for $395. I am looking for comments on quality and durability. The Marlin is from a bigbox store (Big5 sports). The Rossi is also NIB but at a nearby guns...
