Finally got my Marlin .357!
Finally, after searching high & low in the metroplex, I found a great deal on NIB 1894c in .357--took a 3hr drive to get there and another 3 to get home just to buy it, but it was worth it!
Nice wood on the rifle, decent fit 'n finish overall, and a sweet shooter! DH thinks the rear sight needs drifted left, but I'm not sure. Took it out to the range Saturday evening and ran 50 .357 thru it without a glitch. Loading was a bit stiff but I expect I will get used to it.
Anyway I like it a lot! If anybody is looking for a levergun in .357, you can find good deals if there is a Big 5 Sports store in driving distance to you. It may not be 'in stock' but they do issue rain checks at the sale pricing, and they will get one in for you. FWIW, right now they are running a sale on the Puma M92 rifles in several calibers, including .357.
(I am not affiliated with Big 5 Sports in any way--I just got a good deal there and was treated very well as a customer.)

Let's just say that I'm a receiver sight guy...
Just ordered a Williams receiver sight from Midway for my new Marlin 1895 .45-70 . Hope it will be in by Friday .
Old age is really catching up with my eyesight .

If that does not do it , I may have to scope it . Was trying to avoid that , want to use it for lead bullet siloute (sp) matches . They are metalic sights only .
God bless

Howdy Vic, Remember me? I met you at Bass Pro and bought the two black powder rifles from you.
Congrats, I have 3 357 lever guns and love them all. Two are Marlins, 1 1894c and one Cowboy.
I'm guessing you drove to Wichita Falls to find a Big 5? We had them all over when I lived in Utah, but I never bought a thing from them.

Hiya Warhawk! I remember you! I love this new little lever gun! It's a hoot to shoot! And yes, I drove up to WF to the Big5 there and got it on sale. Currently they're selling the Puma in all its variations for about 379$.
BTW, I was treated VERY well at Big 5. I would be happy to drive up there in the future for a good deal again.
