What is a GP Comp?

I have been interested of late in Super Vel ammo. I killed my first deer with a handgun using the stuff. 180 gr 44mag jhp. Nice fat doe of app 110lbs. Shot her thru both shoulders at app 50yds. What a mess. This was app 1981. Had a rich dr who owned the first chrony I ever saw run some of this stuff...
