I find it relives some tension on the bolt, and to boot it makes the job of getting the bolt out easier.

Re: So much for the end of the world!
What I would have the hardest time dealing with is the limit of ten (or less) firearms. Please don't interpret this as bragging but I (and many others here) have... um... somewhat more than that. As do we :) Most of us have no more than four... I had four, sold two to get my 444p. And by the way, m...

Re: Disassembly / reassembly of 9422's
One other thing to remember... The 9422M in .22WMR is a jacketed round. It DOES foul your barrel just like a centerfire jacketed round does. With a .22LR, you can get away without cleaning for a great deal of time, but not these. If you neglect it, it WILL develope tight spots and build up, just as ...

Re: Disassembly / reassembly of 9422's
Well, I see one good reason to take them apart. The reason I had to reline mine, was that some owners liked to take it apart, some didn´t. The ones who didn´t, buggered up the bore from the muzzle, and about 5 inches in. Well, here in Sweden, a rifle cannot be under 17.7" to be legal for huntin...

Re: Disassembly / reassembly of 9422's
Im the one who wrote that on the Swedish forums... It´s simple really. If the rifle is taken apart a lot, by someone who does not understand the construction of it, the "lip" on the lower that slots in to the upper gets bent a little upwards. That will cause the rifle to have a slight abil...

Great, thanks for that information! I´ve seen some lead-shank that my friend over here shot in his 45-70, aircooled, and it had (by mistake) passed through two moose-calfes. Re: So, I got myself a 444p...
Problem is that the hunting rounds need to expand to some degree, to be legal to hunt with here. On the other hand, they don´t have to expand a lot, they just have to show a difference in diameter. I hear you on ranchdog, I find it hard to get enough time with the family without having a business to...

Dang, that bullet looks nice! I´ve been lurking around Mountain Molds aswell, to try and decide what kind of bullet I want to cast. No no, I didn´t mean I´d pick up lead at the range, I was wondering if it would create a hard enough cast if waterdropped, to prevent them from expanding on impact. I´m planning on using ww-lead, since I have a garage/tireshop for a neighbour. Handy, huh? The problem I see, is that the rubber "...

Well, for me it completely depends on what I´m doing. I almost never load one in the chamber, just because it´s more of a hassle doing so in a levergun. If I´m in the woods sitting on my treestump watching for moose, I load all in the magazine, work the action once, with the safety on. Then I put on...
